Bonfe Cares: Keep Our Neighbors Warm™

As the crisp autumn air settles in and leaves change, many of us look forward to cozy nights by the fireplace and the simple pleasure of bundling up in our favorite winter coat. But for some in our community, the approaching winter brings anxiety and uncertainty. 

To help address this need, we’re proud to present Bonfe Cares and our annual winter clothing drive: Keep Our Neighbors Warm™. Last year, we were overwhelmed by the generosity of our community as we donated over 1,500 items to our local partner organizations.

This year, we’re hoping to do even more. Join us for the second annual Bonfe Cares: Keep Our Neighbors Warm winter clothing drive and help us ensure that everyone in our community has the warmth they need to weather the cold months ahead. Let’s make a difference together!

The Heart of Bonfe Cares

At Bonfe, we’ve always believed that a strong community starts at home. For over three decades, we’ve been privileged to serve the greater Twin Cities metro area, being welcomed into your homes and helping to keep those homes running smoothly. Now, we’re taking our commitment to the community a step further with Bonfe Cares.

Bonfe Cares is our way of building stronger connections and making a positive impact in the communities we call home. Through partnerships with local organizations, we support initiatives that address critical needs and help individuals and families facing difficult situations. From donating essential items to lending our resources and expertise, Bonfe Cares reflects our dedication to being good neighbors.

Introducing Keep Our Neighbors Warm™

We’re kicking off fall with an ambitious, heartwarming (literally!) initiative. Keep Our Neighbors Warm™ is Bonfe’s campaign designed to collect and distribute essential winter wear to those in need throughout the Twin Cities. 

Here’s how it works: From September 25 to November 22, when you receive Bonfe service, you can contribute by donating new or clean, gently used coats, snow pants, and boots to your Bonfe technician. We’ll sort these items and deliver them to our partner organizations for direct distribution, ensuring they reach those who need them most.

Why did we choose to focus on warmth and comfort? We’ve dedicated our careers to helping keep people comfortable at home, whether that’s providing warmth in the winter, cool air in the summer, or safe, effective plumbing and electricity all year round. It makes sense that we’d extend that focus on comfort when considering opportunities to further serve our community.

The specific idea for Keep Our Neighbors WarmTM was born from a simple observation. We provide service to hundreds of homeowners each week, and this time of year, many families are going through their closets, setting aside outgrown or unused winter wear. While there are several large-scale donation centers available, that’s an added errand for our customers. Moreover, many of these centers operate as for-purchase stores, meaning those in critical need may be unable to afford to buy goods from them.

By collecting donations during our service calls, we’re making it convenient for our customers and ensuring that these essential items reach those who need them most — free of charge.

How You Can Help

It’s easy to get involved with Keep Our Neighbors Warm™:

1. Set aside any new or gently used coats, snow pants, and snow boots. We accept all sizes, from infant to 6XL.
2. Schedule a Bonfe service between September 25 and November 22.
3. Hand your donations to the technician during their visit.
